Advancing Healthcare

The West Virginia Partnership for Health Innovation is a 501c3 nonprofit organization with a vision to serve as a catalyst and collaborator for advancing better health and healthcare in the state and a mission to improve health outcomes and move toward a value-based health care system.

Background

  • As West Virginia continues to respond to the ongoing pandemic which has not been seen in more than 100 years, healthcare organizations, providers, and nonprofits have been significantly impacted.
  • The response in the state has necessitated drastic changes in the way such organizations conduct day to day business, sometimes creating an environment where it is difficult to access basic resources, furloughing or reduction in staff, and challenges in sustaining service delivery.
  • Such conditions present extreme challenges to even the most well-resourced organizations.
  • At the same time, we are witnessing the release of millions of dollars for COVID-19 related stimulus funding intended to assure that our infrastructures remain intact and even basic healthcare services continue to remain available in our rural, Appalachian counties.
  • Given the constraints they are experiencing under COVID-19 however, the capability and capacity to respond to these funding opportunities is lacking and being successful will be nearly impossible.

What has WVPHI done? WVPHI has established a ‘COVID Capture Team’ to support health care organizations in leveraging funding to meet the needs of their organizations as they continue to respond to the pandemic and address other organizational challenges created by the pandemic.

The team is available to support organizations by:

  • Identifying key funding opportunities for West Virginia health care organizations
  • Providing summary documents of funding opportunities
  • Working with organizations to assess their funding needs
  • Assisting in grant writing
  • Providing ongoing support using a sliding fee schedule
